The great coffee debate has raged for years. All the “experts” say it’s bad for you. Then, a few years later, they decide it’s not too bad. Just don’t drink too much of it. True coffee drinkers scratch their heads and wonder if there is a “too much.”
Of all the information shared over the years on the topic of caffeine, you may or may not have heard anyone mention its benefits for your hair. However, recent research has indicated that caffeine can have some benefits for your hair. Most notably, caffeine has been found to help with hair growth.
It turns out that it can provide quite a few benefits for your hair. Let’s look at a few ways caffeine can be used to enhance your hair care.
Treatment for Hair Loss
For women, hair loss can have a negative impact on their self-confidence and their self-image. The caffeine content found in coffee can be beneficial for hair. When coffee is used as a topical application on the scalp, caffeine reaches the roots and provides stimulation.
Help with hair Growth
When hair roots are stimulated by caffeine, their structure is improved. The antioxidants in caffeine are beneficial for blocking many causes of cell damage and stimulate healthy cell production. This leads to a restoration of hair growth and may prevent further hair loss.
Making Hair Manageable
Brewed coffee is a great detangler. Its effect on hair makes the shaft smoother and stronger. This makes it easier to manage as well as giving it a natural sheen.
Great Hair Rinse
Using a coffee rinse can enhance both the color and texture of hair. To make your own coffee rinse just boil or brew coffee as usual and let it cool. Once it is cool, simply use it as a final rinse after washing your hair. You’ll be surprised to learn that dumping cool coffee on your head yields silky, smooth hair. It can also be helpful to reduce shedding.
Benefits of Coffee Oil
You may have thought about using coffee on your hair. And you may have already tried Lilyam Gold hair oils. But have you considered combining the two? Caffeine helps increase blood circulation throughout the scalp and stimulates the roots to promote faster hair growth. Phytosterols in natural oils help with moisture absorption and retention. Coffee oil is like the dynamic duo for your hair. It’s easy to make coffee infused oil that can be applied to your hair and scalp. If you’re busy like most of us and don’t have time to make your own coffee oil, you can use our signature Liquid Gold Atomic that’s filled with extremely potent ingredients including coffee beans.
How to Make Coffee Oil
One way to make coffee oil involves cooking coffee beans in oil for hours. But there is a simpler way to make this potent combination.
- Fill a jar about ¼ of the way full with coarsely ground coffee beans.
- Cover the beans with Lilyam oil.
- Label the jar with the date and let it sit for two to four weeks.
- After two to four weeks have passed, strain the mixture using cheesecloth or a fine wire strainer. Save the infusion in a jar.
Now you have your own infused coffee oil and can reap the benefits of both. Just use it like you would Lilyam oils. It can be used as a pre-shampoo, a deep conditioning treatment, or as a moisturizer.
